Synopsis
Robert Neville may well be the last living man on Earth . . . but he is not alone.
An incurable plague has mutated every other man, woman, and child into bloodthirsty, nocturnal creatures who are determined to destroy him.
My Review
The vampires are scary, and weird. The typical vampires... garlic repels them, sunlight burns them, crosses affect some of them, that sort of thing. But Robert gets to the science of it all. He wants to know WHY! and it's almost driving him insane. Then Ruth comes along and .... well that's all I can say without spoiling the entire book.
It was great. It was short, sweet, to the point and scary AF. Then again, I'm pretty sensitive to scary things. This book was written in 1954 and you get that classic horror feel from it, which is the creepiest part. I really enjoyed it.
We see how much Robert struggles to get some peace. You really feel his NEED to get answers and it frustrates him to no end. It's hard to hear, but the story is really good and worth the read.
