Synopsis
In this stunning bridge book between Cress and Winter in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told.
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?
Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.
Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from Winter, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.

My Review
This was amazing. I still hate Queen Levana, but I feel like all that we learned of her was necessary for understanding the person she is. I'm torn between thinking she was a spoiled, ungrateful girl who is just used to getting everything she wants, or at least forcing people to give it to her. There is one thing that happens, that really breaks your heart for her and you just understand why she is the way she is, even though I don't believe it's an excuse. It is understandable though.
In this book we Meet a young Princess Levana. We learn what happened to her family and we follow her through all the tragedy that ended in her becoming Queen of Luna. I don't want to give too much away, but a lot of questions get answered and things become very clear. Getting a background to Winter's story is amazing. You really get a grasp on what put this entire series in motion. Cinder, Scarlet and Cress and now Winter.
This is definitely a MUST READ. I would however pick this up after you read Cress. I know I had seen this marketed as a "prequel' to the series, which yes, you're going back in time... but in order to get the full understanding I'd recommend reading this after Cress.
I absolutely loved it. 5 Stars for SURE!
