TAG | READER PROBLEMS TAG

Hey guys! So I saw this tag on BookTube and I totally thought it would work as a blog post too! No one tagged me, but the tag was created by Tiffany at About To Read.

Here are my answers to the tag questions. ENJOY! XOXO

1. You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

It's hard to decide... Like SO HARD! But normally I try my best to choose something that's been sitting there the longest. Maybe if its series I try to read the sequels as soon as I can, so if I have it I try and pick it up asap.

2. You're halfway through a book and you're just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

This is the worst thing ever! But I push through it. Partly because I've a very curious person and I just need to know and partly because my OCD won't let me leave a book unfinished. I just push through and most of the time I end up happy for getting through it. Satisfaction!

3. The end of the year is coming and you're so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

I wouldn't say that I TRY to catch up, but I definitely make myself aware. So if there's books on my TBR shelf that I know I want to read, and are shorter or easy reads, I'll pick them up to encourage myself mostly. Yea, that's usually how I remedy that. And if I don't meet my challenge, well... there's always next year.

4. The covers of a series you love do not match. How do you cope?

Most irritating thing! But... I have a paperbackswap.com account. I'll post my old ones, look for the new covers and get those. OR I wait until black friday, or good coupons and I'll re-purchase. If its a book series that I didn't really care for.. I just donate them. But if it a series I LOVE and NEED all my covers to match (usually the case) I'll re-purchase and gift my old ones to friends I know would enjoy them.

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book you really don't like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

I don't really think I'd look for someone to bond with over a book I don't like. If I don't like it, I move on. Write a review and voice my opinion. Don't really look to rave about how much I hated a book with someone. But if I really have issues and topics I want to discuss (cause that happens sometimes) I'll look for GoodReads reviews and anyone who has the same issues I had and just go from there.

6. You're reading a book an you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

I normally ALWAYS have my sunglasses with me... you best believe those babies are going on! If I don't then whatever... I'll cry! No shame in my game.

7. A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you've forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads? Cry in frustration?!

I will NOT re-read the book! (unless it's been like years). If it's a series I like, I won't skip the sequel. Maybe read a synopsis... or read my review... Or just pick up the sequel. More times than not the book recaps the last one... or thing happen that trigger your memory... Just read it.

8. You do not want anyone, ANYONE borrowing your books. How do you properly tell people nope when they ask?

Keep yo hands off my BERKS! haha... well my friends know I'm a biatch when it comes to my books and they are super important. I mean, they are an investment. Normally I share the book love, but I'm crazy and they know better than to mess them up.  BUT if I had to say no. They'd totally understand.

9. Reading ADD. You've picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

I try to get myself pumped for a book. Depending on my mood I start picking up light reads, short reads... just things that will push me through. OR I just don't read. I hate feeling like I HAVE to read. If I'm not feeling it... then I just do other stuff and at some point that reading bug will bite again and I'm back on track!

10. There are so many new books coming out and you're dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

Ooooohhhh! Every booklover's problem. How to control your spending??? Well for me, I'm on a budget. I have X amount of money to work with and I try to find the best deals, use my coupons and stuff and get as much quality books as I can with that. Usually my book orders are from 2-5 books every few weeks. More if I find great deals... Eeeek BOOKS and SHOPPING.. my favorite things.

11. After you've bought the new books you can't wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

So hard to determine... Maybe a few months? depending on how my reading is going and how much time life permits me to read. I try to get through my books before I go buying new ones... that's always the goal LOL.
