TAG | A TO Z BOOK SURVEY TAG

I stumbled across this tag the other day and thought it would be SO much fun to do. The creator is Jamie from The Perpetual Page Turner.

Check out her post for this tag here: http://www.perpetualpageturner.com/2013/08/some-friday-fun.html

Author you've read the most books from:
J.K. Rowling! Harry Potter is probably the longest series I've ever read. It was a recent read for me (Don't judge me), I only have Book 7 left to read. My plan is to get to that in December for sure! I've been a little spoiled, mostly because I'm so late to the game, but I won't let that stop me!

Best sequel ever:
I have only just started getting back into the groove of reading, so honestly I'm way behind on series and things. I'm going to go with the ones I have recently read and that's New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. I've really enjoyed re-reading this. I have a  new perspective on the story reading it at my age now as opposed to when I was younger.

Currently reading:
Right now I'm reading 2 books. First, If I Stay by Gayle Foreman and Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I know 2 totally opposite genres. I'm having a hard time really connecting with Inkheart, but If I Stay has me! I'm enjoying them both.

Drink of choice while reading:
I am am all about hot drinks! Ok, so coffee is my first choice. BUT when I don't wanna get all wired I go for either tea, OR my all time favorite drink: Caramel Apple Spice from Starbucks. If you haven't tried it.. GO GET YOU SOME! It is amazing. Warm and so tasty.

eReader or physical book:
I love holding a book. That is my preference always. But ... the eReader is most convenient. My favorite is just holding a book, turning the pages and the satisfaction of closing it at the end of a story.

Fictional character you probably would have actually dated in High School:
I always ended up with normal guys. Usually good looking, but low key. I really connected with Clay Jensen from Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. He's just the mellow guy next door. I know its a weird choice, but he's the first one that came to mind.

Glad you gave this book a chance:
That without a doubt is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I am NOT a gamer by any means. THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. It centers around a game. Finding an Easter egg a millionaire left behind. Obsessed with the 80's and video games this kid Wade goes on his quest. It was such a great read. Did not expect to love it as much as I do.

Hidden gem book:
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. Its beautiful, magical and tragic. I loved the feeling this book gave me. It is a more recent book, but it should be super popular. Fantastic.

Important moment in your reading life:
Junior year in high school. 2000. I hated school. I barely passed my classes. BUT junior year I got Ms. O'Neal for English. She changed my perspective about reading. The first book she introduced me to that changed my reading life was The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. It opened my eyes to reading, and it actually being enjoyable.

Just finished:
I just finished reading Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick. An important story for the times we're living in. Our youth suffer and we need to watch for the signs. Leonard wants to kill himself and former best friend. When you find out why you just wish you could make it all better. A must read.

Kinds of books you won't read:
Oh, this is hard. I probably won't read science fiction. It just doesn't appeal to me. I love fantasy, magical realism, contemporary... but sci-fi just doesn't do it for me. Maybe I'll try and read some and see where it takes me.

Longest book you've ever read:
Me and the creator of this survey are twinsies! I Know this Much is True by Wally Lamb. He's probably one of my favorite authors. 897 pages in this monster. I read it so so long ago. I just know it was an epic story. I kind of want to pick it up again now!

Major hangover because of:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. Ugh, I was marathoning this series. And I got to book 6 and finished it. It took me forever to get through that beast.. All the feels in that one. After I finished I had to motivate myself pretty hard to get back into it. Still have not read the last one.. Soon though, very soon.

Number of bookcases you own:
3. Only 2 however hold books. I use the other one as more of an entertainment center for all my DVDs and music and DVD player and such things.

One book you have read multiple times:
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. It was this book that sparked my love for reading. It spoke to me as a 16 year old girl. Holden was the man! I've probably read it like 20 times.

Preferred place to read:
On my couch. Cuddled up in a corner with my blanket and some snacks. I'm a snacker for sure while I read... and I always got something to drink. I won't be moving for a while so I have to stay hydrated and full.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you've read:
"I thought about how love was always the thing that did that - smashed into you, left you raw. The deeper you loved, the deeper it hurt." - She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb

Reading regret:
Not reading Harry Potter and Percy Jackson as a kid. Everyone is a fanatic and I'm like let me check these out, finally! I'm pretty sure my life would be different if I had read them back in the day haha. SO dramatic!

Series you started and need to finish (all books are out in the series):
I was gonna say Harry Potter, but I've already done that. So I'm gonna go with the Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare. I own them all. NEED TO GET ON THAT! Everyone is obsessed with them. I wanna get in on that.

Three of your all time favorite books:
1. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
2. She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb
3. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton

Unapologetic Fangirl for:
The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. People hate it. People love it. I'm a lover. Although I don't have any fun stuff like jewelry or posters. But yea... Twilight.

Very excited for this release, more than all the others:
Winter by Marissa Meyer. I don't wanna wait anymore!! It's the 4th book in the Lunar Chronicles. EXCITED

Worst bookish habit:
I used to dog ear my pages... I stopped a long time ago. But now, I'd say I carry my books in my purse. Which most of the time ruins my paperbacks. I'm sad about it. I'll try and be better.

X marks the spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Say What You Will by Cammie McGovern

Your latest book purchase:
My True Love Gave to Me
By: Stephanie Perkins | Holly Black | David Levithan | Laini Taylor | Kiersten White | Myra McEntire | Kelly Link | Jenny Han | Rainbow Rowell | Ally Carter | Matt De La Pena | Gayle Foreman

ZZZ- Snatcher book ( last book that kept you up WAY late):Oooh. It was Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick. I was almost done and I HAD to know the ending before I went to sleep.

Ok. That was the A to Z Book Survey. That was so much fun. If you have the time, do this tag. It reminded me of all the books I used to love and some I'm looking forward too. Super fun times. All the books I mentioned have links to the good read pages... Just click on the title. XOXO!
