TOP 5 WEDNESDAY | 04.MAR.2015 | BOOKS I'D SAVE IN A FIRE

The topic for March 4, 2015 is Top 5 Books You'd Save in a Fire. This was so much fun to pick out. I chose to save a combination of books I've read and loved and mean something to me and a couple of books I have not read yet because well... I probably paid money for them and I'm only going to save books that have sentimental value or I don't want them to go to waste. Here are my choices for my Top 5 books I'd save in a fire. Hopefully that never has to happen.

The first book I chose was The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. This book means so much to me. It is the very first novel I read that I really enjoyed. I've read it countless times and I totally need this book. It brings back some great memories. Its a book I'll always cherish, therefore... It's getting saved.

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. When I got back into reading after years of being in a slump, this book was one of the first that I read that really sparked my love for reading again. It was magic and tragic and beautiful. The title really does this book justice. I enjoyed it and have since read it a few times again. It's an all time favorite for sure.

Oh man. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline was a game changer for me. I never thought I'd like a book about video games and the 80's. This book took me by surprise. It was filled with so many details that I get something new each time I read it. It's just a great book. If you don't think you'll like this one... think again because it's totally worth a try.

Here's one I have yet to read. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Of course I need to save this classic. I watched a web series called "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries" and I totally fell in love with that adaptation of this book. I have since then really wanted to pick this up and a fire would suck so I'd have to save it just so I can have it ready for when that time comes.

If all my other books were lost in a fire... I'm gonna need some contemporary in my life to make the sadness go away. What better than Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins? I'm gonna need a happy ending and some love if I've lost all my other books. I have not read this, but I have yet to see a bad review so I think I'll be safe.
